Taj Mahal with Bamboo skewers

This miniature Taj Mahal is a tribute to Mughal architecture and eternal love, recreated with cardboard and artistic precision. Designed and built by Abhishek of Crafted Small, the model reflects the monument’s iconic features—its central dome, four minarets, and symmetrical façade—scaled down with care and creativity.

The build begins with a sketched layout of the base platform and dome structure. Using corrugated cardboard sheets, the components are cut and shaped to form the layered base, central chamber, and surrounding towers. The dome is crafted using curved cardboard segments or concentric rings, while the minarets are built with rolled tubes and capped with miniature domes.

Adhesives like hot glue or white glue ensure structural stability. The surface is painted in soft white tones with subtle gold accents to mimic the marble finish. Decorative touches such as window arches, jali-style cutouts, and floral motifs are added to enhance realism. The final display may include a reflecting pool or garden base to evoke the monument’s serene setting.
